I HATE THE SLOW-COOKER

On Easter Monday, I attempted to cook for the very first time with a slow-cooker. I have had this cooker for years but never used it. I prefer the burner or pressure pot. My only reason for not cooking with it has been the name 'Slow'. I once read the manufacturer's manual that said the quickest cooking time on the slow cooker is four hours depending on what you are cooking. My seasoned assorted beef (Cow leg and all) took seven hours, from 11.00pm till 6.35am. The result; the best well cooked, soft and very tasty beef I have ever eaten in years. My family loved it, my guests enjoyed it and I'm doing it again.
How often I have failed to leave things in God's hands and just go to bed. Many times when I experience some forms of delay, I view God as a slow-cooker. God seems to be taking to long to finish things up. Time is running out and God hasn't finished. What on earth is He cooking?
God is not cooking on earth, He is cooking from heaven. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than yourways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:9).
He does delay, yes I reckon. When God eventually makes delivery of what He has been cooking, it becomes out of this world. You will enjoy a perfect finished and very delicious 'meal'.
Expecting good things from God involves waiting on Him. We rob ourselves of the very best when impatience drives us into settling for less. We can miss out on the special treat that is meant to be ours simply because we want it now. There is nothing wrong in having it now, it is the amount of time we will spend in making it look the best that may be longer than the initial waiting.
I left the slow-cooker working all night, knowing that by day break, my beef will be well cooked. I slept well without dashing to the kitchen to check if it was cooking or not. God wants us to leave our issues with Him and trust that He is able to handle everything we have committed unto Him.
Your day will soon break into joyful sounds. The Lord is working, cooking all the ingredients tender and soft. He is willing to bring to your table what will confound those who have despised you (Psalm 23:5). He is able to carry on working on your behalf when you go to bed. He will wake you up in the morning to the sweet smelling aroma of your ready cooked meal. God is the one who promised to set your table for you. He may seem a Slow-Cooker but He is still the only One Who can cook the best for you.
My sisters, put all your worries in God's cooker and go to bed. I can guarantee your hunger will be fully satisfied by what He is able to cook for you.(Psalm 130:5)
Lest I forget, the only seasoning you need is Christ Jesus and His promises. Without him in the issues you are giving God, His cooker will not work. He said whatever we ask the father in His name we will recieve(John 16:24). So season your prayers with the promises of our Lord Jesus and put them in His name into God's cooker. Rest, and wait for your ready meal.
Good Morning.
